OUR GREEN SCHOOL

Green schools are a Europe-wide project designed to encourage and acknowledge whole-school action for the environment.  It is both a programme and an award scheme.  Green schools are a long-term programme.  We have a Green School Committee and a Garden Team.  The Garden Team includes pupils and people from the local community.

The pupils compost and recycle their school waste.  The children rotated responsibility for emptying compost bins /turning off lights if not in use.

The school was awarded its first Green Flag in the Summer of 2020 for raising awareness of waste disposal and management. We were awarded our second Flag for Water in 2022. This is an ongoing programme of action and awareness of environmental issues.

We are currently working towards our third Flag for Travel.
